Natsuki Arai
新井夏希What lies in between: Consciousness and Unconsciousness. Concrete and Abstract.
Natsuki Arai is recognized for his two-dimensional geometric compositions that explore expressions that are "Not quite fitting."
His process involves randomly arranging objects which he made with intention, or conversely, taking objects which he made with no intent and arranging them with intention; this process is repeated until there is no longer any sense of déjà vu.
"I'm trying to make something that is neither made by AI nor by humans," Natsuki says. His body of work possesses an ethereal ambience as if they could slip through any sort of categorization as in "Positive vs. Negative," "Concrete vs. Abstract," or "Digital vs. Analog."
