Exploring the arbitrary "Cuteness" in colors and shapes
Inspired by the simple things and sceneries in everyday life, Tomomi Mizukoshi deforms these motifs and transforms them into pop compositions using vivid color palettes and two-dimensional geometric shapes.
Her unique production process involves using digital software to layout the basic composition, then rubbing the printed image with a pencil and transferring it onto canvas, and finally finishing it up by painting on canvas.
Combining the arbitrary "Cute" colors and shapes that come up to her mind, and assembling various motifs in infinite directions, Tomomi's works invite the audience into a mysterious world where the cute and the weird mingle and co-exist.
